An Outfit from Weekend

Good afternoon, dear lords and ladies!

Phew, last week was crazy for me! I had a job interview, loads of school work and exams, and on Saturday we went to the the Forsman tea store. After that I somehow ended up in a bar with my best friend, and I almost never go to bars, so that was weird in itself. And now I have, of course and how else, a terrible flu and no time to rest, as I simply must drag myself to school tomorrow (as I did today, because I had an exam and one does not simply miss out an exam). But what do I care of all that, because... I got the job! And not just any job, but my dream job. It's so amazing, and I'm super exited! I'll start working there part time in a couple of weeks time, and after I've finished my studies, I'll continue working full time. It's almost too good to be true. *-* Of course this means I'll be very busy during the Spring, and I might not have much time, energy or opportunities to wear lolita or blog about anything. But hey, I'm not complaining, because I got the job! I got it! Whee!

Okay, okay, let's move on to the subject I was actually supposed to post about, and that is my outfit from Saturday's visit to the tea store. I wanted to wear something comfy and warm (no surprise there!). The pelerine looks quite nice with a lolita dress (even if I say so myself), as I thought it would. I had a bad hairday, but otherwice I do like this outfit.

I wore one of my "normal" coats to tone the outfit down some more. My official lolita coat is so elegant that it looks very festive, even when worn without petticoats, so this coat is a better choise for casual looks.

{Dress - Juliette & Justine / blouse, roses - H&M / shoes, pelerine - second hand / coat - New Yorker / jewelry - Kalevala Jewelry}

What else? Well, we spent over 40 euros for tea at the tea store, but I have no regrets. We're good to go for a while and we have an impressive amount of different ginger teas - ginger and honey are good for fighting flus.

Peach Pink & Browns

Good evening, everyone!

Today I met with my friends Sanni, Kata and Iira. We went to The Ounce to have some tea. This time my outfit turned out to be something between otome and casual lolita. I don't know which and I don't care, either. This was one of my "I just want to be warm and comfy" -days. I'm having those days almost all the time, now - Winter is so un-inspiring.

 {Dress - Innocent World / hat - vintage / purse - Primark / cardi - Seppälä / boots - second hand / jewelry - Kalevala Jewelry, H&M}

Yep, what did I just say about the phone pictures...? Sorry, but not sorry! ;)

A bonus picture; I have always thought that bunnies and Rococo go well together, as at least my own dear bunny is such a royal diva. And from this thought I had this idea. This is the version 2.0, and even though it is better than 1.0, it's far from perfect. I'm considering about turning this idea into a small water colour painting to decorate our bedroom wall in a small, pink frame...

Easy Recipe: Home Made Ice Tea

Hello, everyone! One of my readers asked if I could do a tutorial about making ice tea yourself, and since I made ice tea anyway today, I thought that why not? I hope you'll like it! This recipe is super easy, yet the result is very tasty and refreshing on hot Summer days.

For home made ice tea, you will need:

♥ A jug (preferably with a lid)
♥ Good quality tea of your choice
♥  A brewing pouch (paper or cloth)
♥ Ice cold water
♥ (Honey, sugar and/or lime/lemon juice/slices, ice cubes)

How to:

Put the tea in the pouch, and the pouch in the jug. Pour as cold water on top of the pouch as you can possibly get. Put a lid on the jug, and put it in the fridge for 1,5-2 hours. After that, take the tea pouch away and stir the ice tea with a spoon. If you like, you can add some sugar, honey, lemon or lime juice or slices into it. You may also add some ice cubes. Now all that's left to do is to enjoy it!

Other tips:

I personally like green tea as ice tea the most, however this is of course a matter of taste. In my opinion, green tea tastes the most fresh. Green teas spiced with flowers, berries, lemon or lime are my favourites, although coconut ice tea is surprisingly delicious too. I have also made "ice tea" with red grapefruit roiibos, though of course roiibos is not tea and it was technically not ice tea, but rather ice infusion. There are no limits to what teas you can make ice tea from; you'll find your own favourites by trying.

It Was Supposed to Rain

... so of course it didn't. I wore my weather proof shoes and took my umbrella and it was sunny all day long. I could have worn some other shoes for a change. Some that wouldn't kill my feet, maybe. Pfft.

Anyway, I visited Tiia yesterday and wore this.

And we have a tea duck now. We still want another one in the yellow colourway, so me and bf can both have tea with ducks in it. :3

The other day I lost the other half of my favourite silver earrings at work (or so I thought). I was quite crestfallen since I'd had a rough day anyway, so wonderful bf surprised me with Kalevala's earrings in silver. Later the lost earring was discovered in our washing machine (???) and thus I have now two lovely pairs of earrings. :D

Teabook #2

Hello, lords and ladies!

My first Teabook lasted about four months and then I ran out of pages. It's time to take Teabook number two into use! I got this notebook from my Mother years ago. It's handmade, though I don't know by whom (Mom found it from a some kind of fair). I always thought the notebook was so beautiful that I didn't know what to use it for, but now it has a special purpose enough. :D

I can also tie my previous Teabook together with the new one, should I happen to need them both with me when going to The Ounce or visiting friends for tea. Now that's handy!

Lolita Blog Carnival: A Casual Coordinate for a Quiet Day

Good evening, lords and ladies!

Today's Lolita Blog Carnival theme was a casual coordinate for a quiet day, and since I knew my day would be quite relaxed, I decided to participate. I'm very happy that this time I could participate by actually wearing my coordinate. :3

{Dress, headbow - Innocent World, coat, blouse - H&M, shoes - Ellos}

So what have I been up to today? Well, me, boyfriend and two of my friends went to Forsman Tea Shop. It's the biggest tea shop in Scandinavia, and I really like it, but when visiting it's best to have a car because it's in a quite remote factory area. So we don't go that often, but when we do, we buy a whole lotta tea! We also bought cocoa and some treats. (I took some photos in the tea shop and am now considering if I should do a separate post for them... anyone interested in seeing them?)

And then I've been reading nonsense to relax after all the exams and deadlines in school.

Lilac Roses

Good evening, lords and ladies!

It's still International Women's Day for about an hour, so happy Women's Day to all of you lovely ladies! ♥

To celebrate the IWD, my boyfriend and I went to The Ounce and I got an excuse to doll myself up.

My shoes and stockings are actually dark brown, not black... (again.)

I really like this dress, the print has more rare colours; mossy green and shades of lilac.

Couple of days ago I bought this smoky eyes set from H&M and did my makeup with these today. Last time I bought eyeshadows from H&M they were surprisingly good - well, that was years ago, and these are not so marvellous. I really love the colours, but the intensity is not good enough and they make an awful lot of mess while applying them. So, all in all, these are not for everyday use, but if one has lots of time to do one's makeup, then these are useable. :P

Bf was also so kind and bought me one tea box more as IWD gift! Now I have four of these in total. They are really pretty and you can see the tea through the box, which is nice because many teas look very beautiful.

My friend's lil' miss Pom the Papillon has been staying with us since Wednesday. We've been enjoying nice long walks together.

A Doll?

Hello, everybunny!

Today me and bf went to The Ounce for tea, and then to see the Frozen movie, and gosh it was beautiful! Simply wonderful! *-*

rant// But on our way there, a random passer by asked my bf, did he "steal a doll or something". I know it's supposed to be funny (hah, hah), and these people think they are oh so clever for coming up with jokes like these - but sadly it never occurs to them, that maybe someone, nay, like 25 others have come up with the same joke before... it does get tiring, and I really don't like my bf being bothered because of the clothes I happen to be wearing. I do wish people would stop to think a little bit before opening their mouths. //end of rant

Other than that, we had a really lovely time, once again. :3

{Dress - Juliette & Justine, shoes & headbow - second hand, blouse - Dear Celine}

I would also like to introduce you to a new hobby of mine. Or rather, a new approach on a very old hobby. This is my "tea book". It's just an old notebook, but now I'm writing in it details (the name of the tea, the brand/tea shop, ingredients, country of origin, colour, smell, taste, my opinion...) of every tea I taste. I got bored of not remembering if I had tasted some particular sort of tea before, and only after buying it realizing that yes, I had tried it before and nope, I still don't like it.

P.S. If you haven't yet seen Frozen, I really recommend that you do! On advance I thought that I'd dislike the snowman character Olaf, but I liked even him, he really was funny. :D My favourite scene was definitely Elsa's Let It Go song and her creating the ice castle... actually I liked all the scenes that took place in that castle. *-*

P.P.S. I have a new laptop with super sensitive touch pad, and the cursor keeps jumping this way and that. I'm trying to be very careful and triple check my spelling while trying to het used to this, but if there are some really weird typos, it's propably because of this darn thing.

Frost to Fire

Good evening, lords and ladies!

Here's my outfit from today. I just wanted to wear something as warm as possible, because it's -15 degrees outside and it's no fun. It's very beautiful, though, with the white ground, frost flowers on bus stop glasses and the trees all glittery.

I like this kind of hairbun, it's super quick and easy to make and looks rather nice with a beret. Right now a wool beret is a must.

Me and bf went to The Ounce, mainly because we'd run out of Irish Whiskey black tea once again, but we did stop for some tea there, also.

P.S. The title of this post is from a book I hope I was reading now, but am not, because it's still in the library. It is also pretty much what I hope would happen outside. I am no Winter person.

P.P.S. Oops, almost forgot...

La Dance de la Dollhouse

Good evening, everyone!

I've got two outfits to show you this time: one from yesterday and one from today. Sorry about the crappy pictures - it is so dark here all the time, it's like a curse. The picture from today was taken 11 o'clock in the morning, but you'd never guess that.

So, yesterday I wore Angelic Pretty's Dollhouse for tea at The Ounce and then The Hobbit - Desolation of Smaug movie afterwards. I think that Smaug was cute and beautiful in a wild way, whereas Beorn the skin changer was so scary in his bear form. I am weird that way - at least my boyfriend says that Smaug was no cute, nor beautiful. Well anyway, back to the outfit; I aimed for a sweet-classic look, even though this dress itself is quite sweet.

I wore these ribbon earrings that I got from my little sister as a Christmas present.

And here's my outfit from today: La Dance de la Dame JSK by Juliette et Justine. This was for running some errands with Kata...

... and also for some white tea and chocolates afterwards. We got crazy amounts of chocolate as Christmas presents, so it's just good that Kata helped to eat some of it. :D

Rarity

Good evening, lovelies!

Today Kata and Hanna visited our place for some tea and treats.

I took inspiration for my outfit from Rarity to celebrate the fact that My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic's 4th season will begin next Saturday! I'm so exited! *-*

Hanna was particularly mesmerized by her first encounter ever with a tea flower.

I also got some late Birthday presents - thank you very much, girls! ♥

Tea Tasting at Chai Wan

Hello, everyone!

Today me and my friend Hanna-Katariina went to a tea tasting at Chai Wan tea room. I had never visited this tea room before, and I love tea tastings. Too bad the so called tea tasting wasn't really a tea tasting - the price included only two types of tea - green and black - and one glass of bubble tea. We couldn't even choose which teas we would like to taste. The waitress who served us also looked very surprised when I asked her what kind of green or black tea can we have - I think that she should have told us the specific information about those teas without me even asking.

But on the other hand, the buffet was very good and had lots of yummy treats. So instead of a tea tasting, we just had a brunch, really. It doesn't matter that much, we still had a great time and the tea room was so beautiful (it is located in the historical Kiseleff's house). All in all, I think I shall still visit this tea room again, even though the tea tasting wasn't what I originally expected it to be.

Well, on to the pictures! First, my outfit. Just something very comfy and casual.

Dress, headbow - Innocent World
Earrings - gift from Hanna-Katariina (she brought them from Manchester)

And then some food pictures. Bubble tea, I didn't like it that much, but it was nice to try something new. :)

Here you can see a part of the tea room - it is so pretty.

Also - today was a sunny day! It's really rare to have this blue sky in Helsinki in the middle of the November. *-*
