Hellocon 2016 outfit & purchases

Hello, everyone!

I'm trying to get back on track with blogging - and I do have lots of material, too! :'D

So here's my outfit for Helsinki Lolita Convention 2016, also known as the last Hellocon ever. I'm curious to see what's up next.

My theme for the outfit was crazy bunny lady à la crazy bunny lady. Bunnies are one of my favourite, most frequently seen themes nowadays! I've gone on full crazy bunny lady mode and I have no regrets. I've been hoarding lots of bunny themed accessories and home decor stuff lately. I really liked this outfit, and I love that dress! The powder pink bag is a lucky find from Rome - we made another trip there this spring and the Italians really do know how to make cute leather bags and shoes...

Outfit details

Dress - Juliette & Justine
Blouse - Mango
Hair accessories - H&M, second hand
Earrings - Kalevala Jewelry
Brooch - Chocomint
Bag - souvenir from Rome
Shoes - Minna Parikka

My purchases

I'm in a good place financially now that I'm working, so I promised myself that this will be the Hellocon where I am allowed to buy anything I want. And so I did. It was super fun though I did have some quilty feelings later - I'm not used to spending so much money at once. I've been doing a make over in my wardrobe - I've bought quite a few new things, but I've also sold many dresses that don't fit my style anymore.

So, in Hellocon I bought
  • A beautiful Twin Flower dress, handmade of recycled materials
  • Baby's classical heart bag which I have been drooling over ever since I started dressing in lolita fashion a little over decade ago
  • Innocent World's bolero - another thing I've wanted for a very long time
  • Miss Danger Shop's bunny brooch/headdress (what did I say about hoarding bunny stuff?!) and
  • Illves's adorable chubbycorn brooch.

And in the end, some close ups.

Layered Look for Rococo Exhibition

Good evening, everyone!

So, as I promised, I'll now start posting some outfits I've worn during the last month or two, starting with the oldest. This was my look for the Sinebrychoff Art Museum's Rococo exhibition.

 I wanted to create a layered look and wore much more accessories than I usually do. I liked this outfit very much.

Closeups of the accessories. I was happy to notice that all of my Kalevala Jewelry's pieces go really nicely together even though not all of them are from the same series.

{Dress - Juliette & Justine / bolero - Baby, the Stars Shine Britght / jewelry - Kalevala Jewelry / shoes - vintage / roses - H&M}

 A bonus pic; a casual sweet lolita outfit I wore to tea with my friends Hanna and Kara. Sadly this is the only picture of it, so it doesn't quite deserve its own post.

Hellocon 2015: The Carnival of Decadence Fashion Show & My Outfits

Good evening, everyone!

We came home from Rome yesterday, and it was a wonderful trip indeed. I'll post pictures from Rome later - there's so much of them it will take some time to sort them out.

In the meanwhile, we shall return to Hellocon 2015 for a moment! I'd like to show you my outfits and the fashion show me and Mimi organized. Let's start with my con outfit. I decided to wear my Magical Etoile JSK by Angelic Pretty, as it suits both the circus theme and the guests of honour. I also got to meet Maki and Asuka briefly. They were very cute and kind and had prepared a special message for the lolitas of Helsinki - adorable!

Here's a better picture of my outfit.

{Dress - Angelic Pretty / purse - Baby, the Stars Shine Bright / shoes - Minna Parikka / star hairclip - Essin Maailma / the rest - offbrand}

And then on to our fashion show, The Carnival of Decadence! I really love how balanced it turned out - all the outfits were equally amazing  on their own, but they also really worked together nicely. I'm so proud of all the models, too - they did great! ♥ (Do watch the video in HD, please!)

Here's all of our lovely models in the order of appearance.

 Lauren, our fabulous pirate. She is wearing Alice and The Pirates.

Alice, playing the role of the Carnival guest, also in Alice and The Pirates, if I remember correctly.

Nita, she was a magician. Her outfit was self made - amazing job there!

Inka, the chocolate seller. She threw chocolate into the audience and wore Innocent World and Angelic Pretty.

Cheetahbird, the Carnival guest disguised as a cat! She wore Juliette et Justine.

Elfie the snakewoman, wearing a lovely dress by Victorian Maiden.

Lydia Toivo, the flower girl. She gave pink roses to the audience and looked absolutely adorable in Angelic Pretty.

Veera the swan princess and her epic prop, Teppo the Swan! Veera wore Moi-même-moitié while Teppo rocked a pretty crown.

Me as Ursula the mermaid. My dress is from Cloudberry Lady, and the octopus in my hair is called Inky the Pinky.

Mimi as the dramatic gothic vampire queen. Her dress and parasol are also self made - the parasol especially was astonishing!

Hanna and Karakuri as the circus pony and its trainer. Their outfits are selfmade. The print on Hanna's dress was designed by me.

In the end, all of us together. Thank you so much, all of you lovely ladies and lords, for making this fashion show not only possible, but very special, too! ♥

Well, my dear readers, I guess that's it for now. Did you find a favourite amongst the fashion show outfits? If you did, please do share that in the comments! I might do one more post of Hellocon 2015, so stay tuned for that, too! ;)

An Outfit from Weekend

Good afternoon, dear lords and ladies!

Phew, last week was crazy for me! I had a job interview, loads of school work and exams, and on Saturday we went to the the Forsman tea store. After that I somehow ended up in a bar with my best friend, and I almost never go to bars, so that was weird in itself. And now I have, of course and how else, a terrible flu and no time to rest, as I simply must drag myself to school tomorrow (as I did today, because I had an exam and one does not simply miss out an exam). But what do I care of all that, because... I got the job! And not just any job, but my dream job. It's so amazing, and I'm super exited! I'll start working there part time in a couple of weeks time, and after I've finished my studies, I'll continue working full time. It's almost too good to be true. *-* Of course this means I'll be very busy during the Spring, and I might not have much time, energy or opportunities to wear lolita or blog about anything. But hey, I'm not complaining, because I got the job! I got it! Whee!

Okay, okay, let's move on to the subject I was actually supposed to post about, and that is my outfit from Saturday's visit to the tea store. I wanted to wear something comfy and warm (no surprise there!). The pelerine looks quite nice with a lolita dress (even if I say so myself), as I thought it would. I had a bad hairday, but otherwice I do like this outfit.

I wore one of my "normal" coats to tone the outfit down some more. My official lolita coat is so elegant that it looks very festive, even when worn without petticoats, so this coat is a better choise for casual looks.

{Dress - Juliette & Justine / blouse, roses - H&M / shoes, pelerine - second hand / coat - New Yorker / jewelry - Kalevala Jewelry}

What else? Well, we spent over 40 euros for tea at the tea store, but I have no regrets. We're good to go for a while and we have an impressive amount of different ginger teas - ginger and honey are good for fighting flus.

Latte Blue

Good evening, lords and ladies!

Today I met Sanni for some tea at The Ounce. The weather forecast said it might rain, so I wore my latte coloured shoes - they are fake leather and can take any weather. It didn't rain, after all, but I still liked my outfit. Also these shoes are very versatile, as is that purse. They seem to match almost anything! Right now I'm tempted to coordinate these accessories with some light blue also, inspired by Tiia's lovely outfit in Hellocon. Maybe I will...!

Tried a new hairstyle also, inspired by Reneissance. I like the idea, but this one still needs some working on. Next time I'll tie more of my hair to braids and hopefully it will keep the hairdo together more securely. This one looks a little bit messy (naturally curly fluffy hair, I love you).

{Dress - Juliette et Justine / Roses - H&M / Blouse - Ellos / Shoes - some shop in London / purse - Accessorize}

This time I tried a green tea flavoured with mint called Mojito. It was lovely and fresh.

What else? Well, our Odessa has been trying to befriend dogs.

I'm now taking care of my sisters dog Hilma for a couple of weeks, and Odessa just won't leave her alone, she is so curious about Hilma! Hilma doesn't know what to think of this strange bunny that isn't running away from her, but rather towards, but takes it all in a very relaxed manner. Hilma is always so relaxed. x)

1921

Hello, lords and ladies!

Last weekend I attended Tiia's housewarming party. She had decided the theme to be 1920's. I desiced to go for an early 20's look, also drawing inspiration from - you guessed it already - the ever so lovely Downton Abbey.

The same old hairdo but hey, I added some braids this time! And actually liked the outcome. :}

{Dress - Juliette & Justine / blouse, roses - H&M / shoes - Minna Parikka / feather hair clips - second hand / tassel necklace - handmade by Hanna-Katariina}

Tiia had made delicious foods and ice tea.

In the end, we ended up at Johannes' (St. John's?) Cathedral. It's my favorite church in Helsinki, it's so beautiful.

Here's (almost) everyone! It was lovely to see how each of the guests had interpreted the theme. From left to right: Hanna, me, Anna, Tiia, Mimi and Katja.

I also made this card for Tiia, because she like faeries.

A Doll?

Hello, everybunny!

Today me and bf went to The Ounce for tea, and then to see the Frozen movie, and gosh it was beautiful! Simply wonderful! *-*

rant// But on our way there, a random passer by asked my bf, did he "steal a doll or something". I know it's supposed to be funny (hah, hah), and these people think they are oh so clever for coming up with jokes like these - but sadly it never occurs to them, that maybe someone, nay, like 25 others have come up with the same joke before... it does get tiring, and I really don't like my bf being bothered because of the clothes I happen to be wearing. I do wish people would stop to think a little bit before opening their mouths. //end of rant

Other than that, we had a really lovely time, once again. :3

{Dress - Juliette & Justine, shoes & headbow - second hand, blouse - Dear Celine}

I would also like to introduce you to a new hobby of mine. Or rather, a new approach on a very old hobby. This is my "tea book". It's just an old notebook, but now I'm writing in it details (the name of the tea, the brand/tea shop, ingredients, country of origin, colour, smell, taste, my opinion...) of every tea I taste. I got bored of not remembering if I had tasted some particular sort of tea before, and only after buying it realizing that yes, I had tried it before and nope, I still don't like it.

P.S. If you haven't yet seen Frozen, I really recommend that you do! On advance I thought that I'd dislike the snowman character Olaf, but I liked even him, he really was funny. :D My favourite scene was definitely Elsa's Let It Go song and her creating the ice castle... actually I liked all the scenes that took place in that castle. *-*

P.P.S. I have a new laptop with super sensitive touch pad, and the cursor keeps jumping this way and that. I'm trying to be very careful and triple check my spelling while trying to het used to this, but if there are some really weird typos, it's propably because of this darn thing.

La Dance de la Dollhouse

Good evening, everyone!

I've got two outfits to show you this time: one from yesterday and one from today. Sorry about the crappy pictures - it is so dark here all the time, it's like a curse. The picture from today was taken 11 o'clock in the morning, but you'd never guess that.

So, yesterday I wore Angelic Pretty's Dollhouse for tea at The Ounce and then The Hobbit - Desolation of Smaug movie afterwards. I think that Smaug was cute and beautiful in a wild way, whereas Beorn the skin changer was so scary in his bear form. I am weird that way - at least my boyfriend says that Smaug was no cute, nor beautiful. Well anyway, back to the outfit; I aimed for a sweet-classic look, even though this dress itself is quite sweet.

I wore these ribbon earrings that I got from my little sister as a Christmas present.

And here's my outfit from today: La Dance de la Dame JSK by Juliette et Justine.This was for running some errands with Kata...

... and also for some white tea and chocolates afterwards. We got crazy amounts of chocolate as Christmas presents, so it's just good that Kata helped to eat some of it. :D

Mimi's Wedding Party 2.11.2013

Good evening, everyone!

Here's some pictures from Mimi's wedding party, from a week ago. Just got them now, and even though Sanni had to use flash in every photo (Finland is such a dark country!), I still find these pictures really cute. ♥

Let's start with a group photo of us frilly girls: me, Susanna, Tiia, the beautiful bride Mimi herself, Sanni and Kati.

Me and my darling. We look very tired because at this point we were very tired. x)

With Kata and Tiia.

And the outfit shots. With the coat...

...and without it.

I love this bracelet, because it makes me think of the elves in The Lord of the Rings! It is too big for me so I don't usually wear it, but luckily my dear friend Hanna promised to shorten it for me. So in the future I will be wearing it more often!
