Lolita Blog Carnival: Your Dream Lolita Meetup

Good evening, my lords and ladies!

Today's Lolita Blog Carnival theme is as the title says, and since I'm down with a terrible flu and can't do anything productive, I decided to dream away (and participate).

I came up with many splendid ideas, but here's two of them. Number 1 would be quite expensive and impossible to organise but hey, we are talking about dream meetups. So, here it is: a Rococo themed picnic at the gardens of Petit Trianon! You had to see this one coming. :D

In the unfortunate event of rain - or in the evening, when the sun has set and air has cooled - we could also spend time in the charming little castle.

Everyone would be wearing something Rococo-inspired. We could play some games together, or maybe recite our favorite poems. Like so!

As for the food, we would only have things that are both beautiful and tasty! Macarons...

 ... cupcakes...

... strawberries dipped in melted chocolate, baquettes, cheese, maybe croissants...

... and of course lots of home made ice tea to keep us cool.

Now, let us move on to my idea number 2, which would be basically all the things mentioned in idea # 1, but we would have the picnic here in Helsinki, Kartanonpuisto. Kartanonpuisto is also a garden and a park around a little Rococo mansion, and though it's far from Petit Trianon, it suits the theme perfectly. And the best thing; it would actually be very possible indeed to have this meetup in real life!

This is the spot where we would have (and have had, in the past) the picnic.

There's also a tiny geometric garden, where we would take a stroll to gently digest all that delicious food.

What I love most about Kartanonpuisto (besides the Rococo history) is the fact that I playd there when I was little. I have loved this park long before I even knew what the word Rococo means. That makes this place very special, dear and almost magical to me - when I'm walking around the park I remember how I used to hide there, or walk on that bond's ice during that very cold winter, or climb that particular tree. I always like an excuse to visit this lovely park and all those happy memories.

So, that was it. What would your dream lolita meetup or event be like? Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments!

  1. The "realistic" idea is charming ! It is touching that you played here way before you discovered Rococo and Lolita ! Hope you can have a picnic there soon ! :)

    1. Thank you very much! Last year we did have a picnic at Kartanonpuisto (though not a Rococo-inspired one) and maybe this year we will have another picnic there. ^^

  3. That last photo is beautiful. If there was ever a way to host a grand lolita meet-up at Petit Trianon I would have to drain my bank account instantly for a plane ticket!
Still, that garden in Helsinki is gorgeous. I love that it has special memories for you, and may you have the rococo picnic of your dreams there!

    1. Thank you! You and me both would have to drain our bank accounts! Though Norwegian does fly to Orly from Helsinki and anyway I've heard only bad things about Charles de Gaulle! XD

And yes, Kartanonpuisto is a wonderful and dear place, it's so nice to have even a little Rococo mansion and garden here in Helsinki, too! :3
