Stars'n'Hearts

Today me and Kata did some shopping. Or actually I did most of the shopping, and Kata kept me good company! Kata commented that I look like a shoppaholic with all my big plastic bags. x) Too bad there wasn't anyone to take a photo of us two - we both wore blue and pink and matched quite nicely!

Today I wore my Magical Etoile dress, bolero and star purse (Angelic Pretty) with Minna Parikka shoes and Innocent World headbow. I wore only one (gasp!) petticoat so I wouldn't knock things out of shelves in the shops - but somehow I still did...

These earrings go so perfectly with Magical Etoile. Eiffel Towers! ♥

After a couple hours of shopping we had some ice tea at The Ounce - this time a mixture of roiibos called "The Chocolate Seduction". It did taste a bit like chocolate and was quite good! Now I'm determined to try and make my own roiibos ice tea at home!

And here's what I bought! A new bed cover with matching pillows.

A collar made of pearls and a new make up pouch.

And more tea! I was starting to run out of "Venetian Rose" and "Lolita", both my favorites. I also bought Orient Express, and as The Ounce is celebrating its 10th anniversary, they gave me one ounce of a special "10th anniversary tea" mixture as a present.

The Miss from the Manor

Today was Kaya's Meet'n'Greet. As Kaya was a huge idol of mine many years ago, I decided to go for the sake of nostalgia. I have to admit I had a little stroke of fangirlism again - Kaya was so sweet, he kept smiling and laughing all the time, and he wore a coordinate of Alice and the Pirates. Sadly taking photos wasn't allowed... :(

My inspiration for today's outfit was Downton Abbey. I tried a new hairbun style again. And wore my Victorian Maiden dress for the first time and looked very short legged in the photos. x) Gloves are vintage, all else is from here and there (the white bolero is Innocent World but you can't really see it that much on the pictures).

The bun.

And the necklace. I'm not trying to look artistic here - the sun light was simply too bright, it really hurt my eyes.

After the Meet'n'Greet me and Sanni decided to go to The Ounce. This time we tried ice green tea. It was delicious. I'll have to try making ice tea at home some day!

White

Just a casual outfit for today. Dress is from Liz Liza, shoes Minna Parikka.

Please excuse the ugly balcony of ours, but it has the best light for photos - that still end up looking grey because my camera is that bad. But as long as it still lives I shall not get a new one. x)

The (Not So) Mad Hatters

Today we had a hat decorating meeting at Mimi's. Sanni and Mimi did decorate hats, but as I don't have any spare hats at the moment, I did something completely else - more about that later!

Let's start with the very traditional food photos. Om, nom, nom. Especially the cupcakes (made by Mimi) were delicious!

Here's my outfit for the day. I haven't worn Baby's Thumbelina dress in ages, so now I did. Shoes are vintage and everything else offbrand.

Tried a new hairstyle. Unfortunately it was a very rainy day, so my hair is a total mess. I'll try this hairstyle again some day when it's a dryer (is that a word?!) weather.

And here's what I made! A fur collar from vintage fur, with a ribbon that matches more or less with my beloved wintercoat. Next winter my throat won't be suffering any cold. :D

Milk Caramel

I met some friends today. We had tea at The Ounce, as usual, and after that we did some shopping.

Here's all of us (exept Aki, who took the pictures and held all the shopping bags, coats etc. - poor Aki! XD). I look so small with Hanna and Momo even though I'm wearing 10 cm high heels...

And next my outfit pictures. Dress is Innocent World, all else is random.

I really like this golden belt with a bow. I also like this bracelet - it's a gift from a very dear friend. ♥

Even my shoes have bows on them.

And on to the new things! First I'd like to show you my very first Victorian Maiden dress - Lace Rose Ribbon OP in "Milk Caramel" colorway! "Milk Caramel" sounds so cute, it could be a name of a My Little Pony. I got this dress as an early birthday gift from my boyfriend.

I simply adore this dress. It's of soft, creamy color, it has roses in it, it has dark brown in it - all the things that I really love! ♥

Today I also bought this purse. It's bigger than my old brown bag (seen on today's outfit pictures), and the color is really nice. And it also has bows! There can never be enough bows. :D

And lastly, some materials for my future projects. These pearls are real lake pearls, a welcomed change after all the glass ones I have previously used.

Cheery Rainy Day

Hello everyone! This time I have just a daily outfit for you. I tried a little bit different style of hairbun today - this type of bun we call "the cabbage explosion", it's a good name for it. I do like how it came out, I'll definitely be wearing more "cabbage explosions" in the future. :D

The dress and purse are Baby, shoes Minna Parikka, blouse vintage and this cute heart shaped "macaron" is from Essin maailma.

Oh noes, I only noticed now that the second bow is uneven!

P.S. While we (me + bf) were waiting for the bus to come, during ten minutes two persons asked if I was going to get married today, one said that I am so delicate that I look like a doll, and an old man (a little bit drunk I think) kept asking my boyfriend, if I am a doll that runs with batteries. Oh the comments one gets while wearing lolita! That "does she run with batteries? She must run with batteries! She can't be a real person!" is perhaps my personal favorite commentary so far. :'D

Essin maailma - A Sugary Sweet & Quirky Realm

Hello hello, lovelies!

During my blogging “career” I’ve mentioned several times the ever so lovely Essin maailma –website, but I’ve never truly dedicated a proper post for it. So now I’d like to draw your attention to Essi’s website, because a talented genius like her can never get too much attention! ♥

Essi (pictured above) is a Finnish artist – there is no better word for creativity of this level – who makes jewelry, home décor, cards and gifts of all sorts and of many different materials. The selection on her website is huge. There is one common thing in her works, though; they are all very fresh and feminine, have lovely bright colors and are absolutely unique. What I like perhaps most about Essi is that she is willing to make custom works, or alter her earlier creations to fit your personal taste (for example, you can ask for different colors). Just ask her, she is really sweet! Her works are of high quality, and even the prices are not too high at all. And what’s best; many of her designs go perfectly with lolita clothes, or lolita inspired home decoration. Essi has told me that she likes lolitas, and loves seeing her jewelry worn by us lolis.

Here are the jewelry that I own from Essin maailma:

Now I’d like to show you some things that are currently found on the website, and babble a bit about why they are so awesome. These are my personal favorites!

“The lovely dragonflies” in pink

This piece would look lovely on your terrace or summer cottage. Sweet, soft colors and delicate materials make me think of hot, sunny, lazy summer days. This board is so dreamy.

“Strawberry Pocky” earrings

Perfect for anyone, who likes these delicacies! Have you ever tasted Pocky sticks? They are very yummy. I wanted to show you these because c’mon, this idea is so funny! That’s what I like about Essi’s work, she doesn’t repeat the same old routines, but invents new, quirky ways to make jewelry.

“Carebear headdress”

It’s too warm for this one already, but Northern winter always comes too soon (and freezing cold!). This is just so adorable, I wish I had the guts to wear this! I bet it will keep your ears nice and warm. Maybe I’ll have to find my courage to purchase and wear this next winter…! We’ll see about that.

For more lovely things, do visit Essi’s website! Essi has built a whole world around her products. You can wear them, you can decorate your home with them, you can give them as gifts to your loved ones…

P.S. My English speaking readers: I've asked Essi and she can ship her products abroad also (though the postal fees will then be a little bit higher of course). Her webpage is in Finnish only, so here's a quick quide to ordering:

You can find the products here.
After you have decided what you wish to order, go here.
Fill your correct e-mail address on the box that says "sähköpostiosoitteesi".
Write your ordering message on the bigger box: tell what you wish to order and in which colour. In the end press "lähetä viesti" key. Essi will contact you via e-mail as soon as she can.

EDIT: As one of my Finnish speaking readers asked this, I will clear it out now. This post is not sponsored, nor is it a advertise, nor did Essi ask me to write this. This is my actual opinion and recommendation of her products.  I wanted to write this myself in order to bring attention to her webshop and works, as she and they truly deserve it! In the future (as I have done in the past also), if there are any sponsored posts, giveaways or advertisements in my blog, I will tell it. If there's no mention about any of those, then the post/giveaway/advertisement is not sponsored and I get no money for it and it is merely my own review/opinion on the matter. :)

Oh, and by the way; I would never write a positive review or agree to advertise on something that I myself don't like, or if the product doesn't meet my quality standards. I write this blog purely for fun and have this far never made any money with it. I have been asked to advertise certain webshops and products in my blog, but as those didn't fit the theme in my blog (and they were not something I would like to buy myself), I refused the offers.
